Families are welcome on our desert safaris. The main things to plan for are how much dune bashing your children will enjoy, how long the day is, and whether you want a vehicle to yourselves.
Which safari suits families best?
| If your family wants⦠| Good choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The full evening with dinner and shows | Evening desert safari | Camel ride, sandboarding, henna, live shows and a BBQ buffet with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options |
| Your own car and driver | Private desert safari | One Land Cruiser for 2 to 6 people, priced per car, picked up from your hotel or home |
| A shorter trip, back before lunch | Morning desert safari | About four hours (around 06:00 to 10:00), priced per car for 2 to 6 guests |
| Everyone in one buggy | 4-seater Polaris buggy | Room for a driver and three passengers |
Dune bashing and young children
Dune bashing is a fast, bumpy drive over the dunes. Young children, elderly guests and pregnant travellers may be advised to skip it. Tell us the ages of your children when you book and we will suggest the right package or an alternative for part of the group.
Quad bikes and dune buggies
Age and size limits apply to driving and riding quad bikes and buggies, for safety. Share the number and ages of your guests on WhatsApp and we confirm what each person can do before you pay.
Why a private car often costs less for families
Shared safaris are priced per person; private and morning safaris are priced per car for up to 6 guests. For a family of five or six, the private evening safari at AED 699 for the car can work out close to the per-person price of a shared tour, with no other guests in your vehicle. Compare every option on the price page.
